About Us

We are a group of people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences from Chipping Campden and the surrounding area learning together about the transforming love of Jesus. In our daily lives Sunday through Saturday we live out our faith in the places we go and in things we do. Through serving others and the community we want to make Jesus’s love known.

We meet in a magnificent building that was built for the glory of God and has through the centuries been a place of Christian worship. The stones are soaked in the prayers of the Ages.

Sunday Services

Everyone is welcome to share worship.

Sunday services usually are;

9.30 am - Holy Communion, the traditional language with a robed choir

11 am – Holy Communion or Morning Praise, suitable for all ages

6.30 pm – Compline/Night Prayer except on the first Sunday when there is Choral Evensong

On the first Sunday of the month there is just one morning service, “The Ten”. 10am for refreshments, 10.30am for the start of the service. This service is for everyone and it provides an opportunity for people to explore and deepen their faith in an informal atmosphere.

You are free to attend the service that suits you best.

In St Michael and All Angels, Broad Campden, there are usually two 8.15am services of Holy Communion a month.

There are occasional changes to this pattern for festivals and when we worship with our neighbouring parishes.

Serving our Community

Individual Prayer

Throughout the week the church is available for private prayer. You will be welcome to sit anywhere whilst you pray. We hope you find God’s peace and presence.

The Lady Chapel/North Chapel is normally set aside for private prayer and the wall hanging there invites silent contemplation. The focus of the design is light.

The church is usually open between 11am and 4pm in the summer and 11.00am to 3pm from the end of October, except for Sundays when the church opens at 12.15pm.

Visitors & Tourists

St James’ is a magnificent building that was built for the Glory of God and as a place of Christian worship. The stones are soaked in the prayers of the ages. Throughout the centuries numerous people have cared for the building and ensured it is well maintained for others to use and enjoy.

You are most welcome to visit and experience this wonderful church and the artefacts it contains for yourself. Allow time to consider and savour the beauty of the building and contemplate the gifts of the day.

If you would like to help with the upkeep of our church then you can make a donation via our donations page or in church using our card machine or cash donations box.

The church is usually open between 11am and 4pm in the summer and 11am to 3pm from the end of October, except Sundays when the church opens at 12.15 pm.

During May there is a music festival that takes place in the church every year. Therefore, there will be times when the church will be closed to visitors.
